Oxford English Dictionary: Advance Learner’s Dictionary 8th Edition

Oxford English Dictionary Full Version with Key

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) Offline has many features, but the one thing which stands out most for everyone is that it contains proper explanations for the usage of various words in context, and even presents idioms for many words. Although it is not a dictionary of idioms, phrase and proverbs – it is no doubt a most useful addition to our library. Download Oxford Advance Learner Dictionary 8th Edition with Key.

Why Oxford English Dictionary?

First of all, The Oxford English Dictionary (OED)  is broadly regarded as the accepted authority on the English Language. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of more then half million words— past and present—from across the English-speaking world.

Secondly, As a diachronic dictionary, the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is very different from those of current English, in which the focus is on present-day meanings. You’ll still find these in the Oxford English Dictionary, but you will also find the history of individual words, and of the language—traced through 3 million quotations, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to films scripts and cookery books.

Finally, The Oxford English Dictionary (ODE) started life more than 150 years ago. Today, the dictionary is in the process of its first major revision. Updates revise and extend the OED at regular intervals, each time subtly adjusting our image of the English Language.
